2022-2023 Annual Report

HRWC’s Annual Report to the Community includes a summary of our achievements, thank you’s to donors and volunteers, and our financial report from April 1 through March 31 (our Fiscal Year).

The projects in our 2023 Annual Report to the watershed community highlight our work to address threats to the river from climate change:

Protecting natural lands with community policies and preservation programs funded by millages
Using green stormwater infrastructure, rain gardens that catch and soak in runoff, in Wixom
Eliminating the risk of dam failure and restoring river habitat in Ypsilanti by removing the Peninsular Paper Dam, a high-hazard dam in poor condition
Plus our work to monitor mussels, a sensitive species whose protection is more critical in the face of climate change
And our commitment to teaching river ecology to youth at summer camps and introducing families to environmental indicator bugs at community-focused events
