Tax Changes with the CARES Act
Tax Changes for Charitable Giving
The CARES Act removes the previous deduction cap for filers who itemize their taxes. Previously the cap was 60% of the filers’ adjusted gross income. The CARES Act lifts that cap to 100% for individual and joint tax filers.
Taxpayers who do not itemize are eligible for a $300 deduction for individual filers, and up to a $600 deduction for married couples.

HRWC encourages you to consult with your tax advisor on deductibility before making any decisions based on this information.
