Want an easy way to help the Huron River Watershed Council?

Use the Facebook Places icon on your phone to “check-in” when you
visit the REI store in Ann Arbor (970 West Eisenhower Parkway, Ann Arbor, MI 48103).

Beginning on Friday (11/26) through Monday (11/29), REI will donate $10 to the Huron River Watershed Council for each customer that checks-in via Facebook at the Ann Arbor store!

For complete instructions and a list of the local non-profits participating see REI Increases Nonprofit Donation to $10 through Facebook Places This Weekend.

REI (Recreational Equipment, Inc.), a national retailer providing quality outdoor gear and clothing is a participating company in the beta launch of Facebook Deals. Through Deals, a local non-profit that is actively working to restore the outdoors will be supported in each REI community.

Each year, REI actively partners with local non-profit organizations in each of its communities through its employee-nominated grants program. In 2010, the company granted $3.7 million to groups that work to preserve natural spaces and increase access to the outdoors through volunteerism.

Your support will help HRWC continue its work protecting the Huron River through programs and volunteer efforts that include pollution prevention, hands-on river monitoring, wetland and floodplain protection, public outreach and education, and natural resources planning.
