Volunteers monitoring their lakeIf you live on one of the many lakes in the watershed, you should consider attending the Michigan Lake & Stream Association’s Annual Conference.  Their 49th Conference begins this Friday morning and runs through Saturday afternoon.

Many relevant topics will be covered starting with training for volunteer lake monitoring through the Cooperative Lakes Monitoring Program (CLMP) on Friday and including presentations and discussions on legislative and legal issues, natural shoreline restoration, lake assessment and classification, plant management, statewide partnerships, and invasive species control.  The keynote address will focus on stormwater source control as a means toward lake water quality improvement.

The conference is being held in Lansing at the Radisson Hotel.  Go to the ML&SA website for more information.
