The view from National River Rally 2010 at Snowbird

We’re blogging from the 11th National River Rally at Snowbird, UT this weekend where the powder is fresh and the river community is fired up. Over 400 people from 40 states are here for the 4-day event sponsored by River Network to share collective knowledge, skills, experience and spirit in the common mission to protect and restore rivers and other waters in our country. Laura and I are representing HRWC, and neighboring watershed groups are here, as well.

What’s on tap for today?

– Nancy Stoner, Deputy Assistant Administrator for US EPA’s Office of Water, spoke to the group about the opportunities and challenges at EPA during the Obama administration.

– We’re getting great ideas on . . .

how to use Google Earth to tell more people about the Huron River;

America’s Great Waters Coalition to obtain federal funding for protection and restoration;

winning strategies for addressing the water/energy nexus and more.               Until tomorrow’s post, Rally Ho!
