The Huron River and its streams in Green Oak Charter Township will be protected nicely, thank you very much, by the new buffer ordinance recently enacted there. The stream buffer zone, where the land meets the water, is the most productive part of the river system. But it’s also the most vulnerable without special measures to protect it. We salute Green Oak Charter Township and Supervisor Mark St. Charles for being leaders in protecting the Huron River and its streams.
