Environment and art connect!

The Dexter Community Orchestra will hold a special screening of films from HRWC’s Millers Creek Film Festival at its performance, Sunday, March 6, 4pm at the Center for Performing Arts at Dexter High School. Admission is free and open to the public.

The screening will be a fun introduction to the Orchestra’s performance of Evan Chambers’ beautiful and moving piece entitled “Watershed for Orchestra”.

The  Millers Creek Film Festival is a video contest featuring original short films and public service announcements that convey a connection between people and water and that inspire the protection of the Huron River.

Audience members will see the winning films from the 2010 Festival and a collection of favorites from the past five years, including some that present one of today’s most pressing threats to the Huron and our fresh water supplies, polluted runoff.

HRWC is currently accepting rolling submissions of originally produced videos and nominations of the best of YouTube for the Film Festival. See the Millers Creek Film Festival Website for more details. Come to the March 6 screening for inspiration!
