On the occasion of Joan Martin’s retirement and to celebrate her twenty years of exceptional leadership in the stewardship movement please join us on Thursday, April 28 at the Dexter Library at 6:30 p.m. Drop in between 6:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m.  to see Joan, wish her well  and have some cake and refreshment. (The celebration for Joan immediately follows  our Annual Meeting, that starts at 5:30 p.m.)

Joan created one of the country’s premier river monitoring programs in 1992, successfully educating, training, and empowering volunteers and neighborhood creek groups throughout the watershed.  Armed with a positive attitude and a collaborative spirit, she trained hundreds of river stewards to monitor and protect the Huron River.

To honor Joan, HRWC has established the Stewardship Fund to ensure that there will always be effective citizen scientists, advocates and educators devoted to the long-term protection and stewardship of the Huron River watershed. Learn more about how you can honor Joan’s  legacy at Stewardship Fund.

And don’t forget to join us….
