Help the Huron - What You Can Do
At the State and National Level
 
  YOU CAN HELP preserve land and reduce sprawl. Here’s how.
  1. Find out how your state senator and state representative feels about this issue. Encourage them to sponsor changes in state policy to encourage more compact development patterns while preserving open space. See www.michiganlanduse.org to find out about the Michigan Land Use Leadership Council and its recommendations. Encourage your legislators to support them.
  2. Get involved in state wide land use planning decisions. Contact the Michigan Land Use Institute, at 231/882-4723, or www.mlui.org.
