Photo of Committee for Liz Swims the Huron 2007 Starting July 7, Liz Elling will swim the length of the Huron River this summer, including stops in several communities along the way. She will finish the 100-mile swim on July 21 at Lake Erie. What inspires this 60 year-old dynamo to take on such feats? It's simple, really. She wants to raise awareness for our lakes, rivers and streams. Photo at right is Liz and her logistics committee, planning her route down the Huron River. "We think we need a lot of things in life,
but the most important resource humans need
is fresh, clean water."
