Sneak Preview of River Map Book
While my co-workers are out of the office celebrating the holidays, the first real snowfall and the days growing longer, I am celebrating by myself — at my desk.
I am thrilled to give you a sneak preview of the Huron River Water Trail Paddler’s Companion.
After months of work, the 40-page Companion is ready for the printing press. You’ll be able to pick up your own copy starting with our table at the Quiet Water Symposium on March 2nd at Michigan State University.
Look for more details in 2013 on our website!

Cover of the 40-page waterproof flipbook

28 maps cover 104 river miles

Each map details 3-5 river miles

Cant wait to use it!
Awesome! This is sure to bring a lot of great awareness to the River Trail concept and project. Can’t wait to get a copy!
Here’s an idea for your next project
. Turn this into an app that also includes icons to learn about the history, ecology, etc, of the rivershed (supported by community businesses who support the river trail, HRWC, and RiverUp and who would also get icons on the app. maps through which users could learn about their companies and their commitment to the watershed). Another way in which the community could “face” the river!
I like the way you think, Tony. The Paddler’s Companion has a QR Code that links to a forthcoming tripped-out website that will give water trail users relevant information about the Huron River, the water trail, RiverUp! and trail amenities in our Trail Towns.
I have been part of the Huron River all my 78 years of life. I have some of the original canoe maps of the Huron from Milford down to Lake Erie. Congratulations on redoing the maps and loving the Huron River. Becky Horvath
I know the location of the picture on the cover. I wonder if anyone else besides the photographer knows. Cool.
Would the cover photo be just before Proud Lake?
Or exiting Island Lake Rec Area, OK no more guesses from me.
